Words by Nerds: Pop-Up Store Expert Interview by Kim Kunasek

Oei Design prepared for the future? According to Kim, they’re exactly “what the doctor is ordering right now.” With design work in Universal Studios and Downtown Disney, Oei Design has already had plenty of experience with the idea of a pop-up store.

“Our work has often been described as entertainment retail or destination retail. We’ve been doing it.”

Looking forward, Kim hopes more property owners and commercial bankers give in to the idea of the pop-up store so that we’ll be seeing more of this constantly evolving in-person marketing tool. With the rapidly changing face of marketing, we look forward to seeing what new endeavors Kim and the rest of the Oei Design team have in store.

Le Fashion Truck by Kim Kunasek

Le Fashion Truck is a mobile boutique – a store on wheels. Setting up shop in various locations throughout Los Angeles since January 2011 and recently also in Bakersfield, Le Fashion Truck features clothing and accessories by emerging designers for the woman on the go! Shop handmade jewelry, handbags, accessories and more aboard the pink truck. They even included the dressing room!

Their new Pop-Up Restaurant is shaped like a massive Lunch Box. Think supersize times 100. Currently, this LunchBox is touring the Australian area, such as Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Etc. Aside from attracting people by their unique shape, McDonald’s is also promoting their new Sirloin/Rump Wraps.

Oei Design Helped build BABW's interactive showroom by Kim Kunasek

Oei Design has been in the news recently for helping to create Build-A-Bear Workshop's first interactive showroom in New York City. We are very proud of our accomplishment and long relationship with such a fun company. The showroom is located inside the New York Infusion studio. It will remain open for weeks, providing a glimpse into the new interactive fixtures of the re-imagined stores. Included are some end-result photos from the opening. (By appointment only.)
